When loading clips onto the timeline, the audio is missing. is it because the Trial version does not allow the audio transfer or is it a fault with the prog. The clips load ok onto the timeline of other progs.

Ann is right. But let's confirm it. What model of camcorder is your video from and what format is this video?
Open one of your video clips in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and copy and paste the report it generates to this forum.

My camera is Panasonic HDC100, and it records in AVCHD format. The clips load into other editing progs ok, and into Premiere 7. But not into Premiere 18. Is the audio left off the Trial version of Premiere 18?

No dolby in Premiere trial and no dolby in paid version if on Windows 7.
Read post 1 again.
Your camera records audio in dolby.

As my computer is running on Windows 7 I will have to up-date the system to Windows 8 or 10. Thanks for the info.
