I used a logictec webcam to bring in me talking on an video clip into Permiere Elements. It is a low resolution clip at 680 by 480. Much to my surprise the audio track doesnt match my lips in the video clip. What causes this?  suppose I can readjust the audio clip to match the video but I would rahter not have the problem to begin with.  Is it a lack of sytem resouces? it was a very short clip. I could use other software to record but I was hoping to skip that step. What am I doing wrong?

Go with what work best for you.  Sometimes we have to use more than one app to get the job done.

I was capturing direct to Elements Premiere. That showed about a half second discrepancy between the video and the soundtrack. The soundtrack lagged. F I use the Windows software to do the capture the sound and video are synced and remain so when I imported them into Premiere. The computer saves them as mp4 files. It also is higher quality that trying to capture directly into Premiere Elements. I just thought I could capture directly but I do not get accepted results when doing that. The mp4 file import is higher quality and video and sound are in sync.

You are correct. My impression is while Premiere Elements is feature rich it is a resource hog because of it. Being able to do some many things requires much more resources.  The few times I want to capture video from my web cam to end up in Premiere will just result in easier work flow if I use other simpler capture software.
