Can not open *.prproj-files after disc crash

I have used Premiere Elements for many years, I use in fact P Elements 9.

After a disc crash I have reinstalled PE 9 on my computer.

The problem is, that when I start PE I can only open *.prel - files when I try to open old projects.

What to do so I can open also *.prproj - files?

As Bob noted, Premiere Elements does not create or open .prproj files, Goranhamm. Never has, never will.

So I'm not sure where your .prproj files came from, but they did not come from Premiere Elements.

.prproj files are Premiere Pro project files, not Premiere Elements project files.

You need Premiere Pro to open them.

Problem description:

1. I bought the PE 9 couple of years ago. I installed the SW from disc. Used it, and all projects I created got the file name *.prproj.

2. I got my disc crash and reintalled the SW from the same disc.  Now is can only  read file named as  *..prel. Strange!!

3. As I have a number of *.prproj-files, I  not proceed  ing with them!

NOTE: I have never used Premier Pro oon my computer.
