Running PRE version 24.0. Windows 11 Home (automatically updated), Intel Core i7-14700, 2100 Mhz, 20 cores, 32 GB RAM. Tried running Auto-Analyzer on various video clips of different formats (MTS, AVI, MOV, etc.). Rarely does it complete its analysys, instead, it stops at different percents, and will proceed no further.
Suggestions?

What model of camcorder is the video from?

Hi Steve!
So pleased you are still helping us,! Miss your Muvipix.com, site but still buying your excellent books as I have for many years.
My camcorder now is a Canon Vixia HF G21, a HD camcorder which created the MTS files . However, I've tried running videos (as mentioned in my my post above) that were created with other camcorders from years ago, and even some from current phones.
Is it time for the usual advice of reloading Premiere Elements? I haven't tried that yet. 🙂

Followup, Auto Analyzer does work with stills that I have in the current project, but not the video, which runs about 9 minutes before I start editing it..

That's very strange, Red. The M2TS files that that camcorder produces should flow easily through the program.
Is your project set up to match this 1920x1080 video? When you add the video to your timeline, is there a yellow, orange and red line above it?

This morning, just to retrace my steps, I dropped a short MTS file into PRE as a new project. The usual "Clip Mismatch" Warning appeared, and I selected "Change project settings". I checked "Porject Setting/General" and the frame size is now set to 1920x 1080. Next, before dropping it into the Timeline, I right clicked on it while it is in the Project Assets and selected "Run Auto Analyzer". The process stopped at 45%. So, to completely restart the process with a different approach, I closed PRE, not saving the project.
I restarted PRE and dropped a different, short MTS file into Project Assets, and this time I dropped it onto the Timeline, and a yellow line above it (no orange or red lines) appeared. I clicked "Enter", the file was rendered and started playing and I stopped it. A right click on the file on the Timeline doesn't list "Run Auto Analyzer." So, I right clicked on it in the Project Assets and selected "Run Auto Analyzer", and it ran to 87% and stopped..
In repeating this process with other short MTS files, they halt at different percents. Some even go to 100%, but still hangs, not indicating that the process was finished. In some of those scenarios I checked Windows Task Manager, and it never shows that PRE has stopped running. However, CPU and Memory use don't change.
I repeated this process with one of my older AVI files. PRE shows that the frame size is set to 720 x 480. I started Auto Analyzer, and it stopped at 1%. Again, Windows Task Manager shows the same status of PRE as in other cases. Repeated with a different AVI file, and Auto Analyzer, and it stopped at 3%.
I can see no pattern as to how far the analyzation process runs before stopping.
I guess the conservative approach would be reloading the program, else purchase version 2025.
Oh! I have let PRE sit for a couple of hours just to see if the process would resume after sopping, and it doesn't.
(Forgot to say earlier that I've also watched on YouTube many of your very helpful videos.)

This one's got me stumped, Red. Unless this is an unusually long clip (say, 20 minutes or half an hour) I have no idea why the program would choke on it.

I've tried clips with lengths of less than a minute to much longer, with no success.
Anyway Steve, I (and I know many others) always very much appreciate your help!
I'll try reloading the program, and if that doesn't work, I'll upgrade to the 2025 version. If either of these work, I'll post that here.

It might also be helpful if you could upload one of your problematic clips to a site like Dropbox, where we'd have access to it. (Don't use YouTube or Vimeo. We need the original file.)
Then we can see if we have better luck running the Auto Analyzer on it.
