Creating own default text box, font and colour

I can't find out how to create and make default my preferred text from the available lists etc. Having to set this for every text action is very time consuming ... there must some easy method for this to become Text/New Text/Default Text.

Pick any style from the list,

adjust to your liking,

Save style (right click)

Your custom style will appear at the bottom of the list.

I get to 'here' but then how to 'Save as Custom' has got me beat just now!

Yep, style is what I thought I created. Wrong! Will take a while to adjust from other software. Thanks

But if I don't want to use one of the styles. I want to set my own font, size, color, etc under the "TEXT" tab and have it default to that. How do you do that?

Don't know the answer to that one. But what I notice is that when I close a project (instead of just minimising screen to leave app open) I seem to loose settings related to my default text.

From my observations, there are many text alternatives which can be modified so I do not have any problems with actual text choice.
