while loading a projekct, premiere elements 15 creates a "peak file". After having reached 99%, this causes a crash of the programm. A have no idea to fix this problem. It is not a probleam of the cash folder (is big enough - "maximum" - and empty).

    If you've captured your video over an IEEE-1394 and you're not seeing a yellow orange render line over your clips, you are using proper video and the project has been set up properly to match your video specs. With an i7 processor and over a terrabyte of free space, you should be able to edit this video without so much as working up a sweat. So I don't know why you are having problems.

    The only weak link in this chain is that you're using Windows 7. (I assume you are using the 64-bit version of Windows 7.) The program is listed as being compatible with Windows 7 SP 1 though -- so I don't know why you're having problems.

    Everything about your computer and the program's setup indicate that everything is in order and that you have more than enough power to work with the program. So something on your computer is interfering with the program's performance, but I don't know what.

    What operating system are you working on? What processor do you have with how much RAM? How much free, clean, defragmented space is on your hard drive?

    What model of camcorder is your video coming from? What format and resolution is your video? How long are your longer video clips?

    thanks for your answer, here are the informations:

    What operating system are you working on?

    --> Windows 7 SP1

    What processor do you have with how much RAM?

    --> i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4 Ghz

    --> 16 GB RAM

    How much free, clean, defragmented space is on your hard drive?

    --> free: 1.47 TB, unfragmented = ?

    What model of camcorder is your video coming from? What format and resolution is your video? How long are your longer video clips?

    --> Sony Handycam DCR-HC85E (DV)

    --> 720x576 AVI

    --> up to 62min, but the problem exists even with shorter clips, 5-10 min.

    How did you get the video from the camcorder to your computer? Premiere Elements 15 can not capture miniDV video.

    Was your video captured over an IEEE-1394 (FireWire) connection?

    If your video was captured using third-party software or over a USB connection, it may not be compatible with Premiere Elements.

    When you first add this video to your timeline, is there a yellow orange 'render' line over your video? If the program has properly set up its project to match your video specs, you will NOT see this render line.
