I just purchased Premiere Elements 2019 for the main purpose of making professional looking dvd menus with chapters. I have been unable to figure out how to access this part of the program. Nor can I find the online disc templates. Please let me know how to do this. The online helps to not give the information on how to access this.
Are you on a Mac? If so there is no dvd option anymore.

Optical discs are going away. Disc movie rental companies, Blockbuster and Hollywood Video, have evaporated. Retailers like Best Buy used to have shelves full of players. Now there are a few on a bottom shelf. Laptops always had disc players. Now they don't. Blank disks occupy minimal shelf space at office supply stores. Phones and tablets can't play discs.
TVs themselves have migrated from standard definition tubes to heavy high definition flat panels and now light and bright 4K models. DVDs and Blu-Rays can't match the newer TVs.
Netflix, Amazon, Disney, YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc are leading the way with digital distribution.
Is it time to consider alternates to distributing your videos on discs?

I get what you are saying. But its worked for us for almost 20 years and all the family have flat screen TVs and DVD/Bluray players. My films look good on TV - or they did. Yes we can move on, but its wrong to take away something which works well for many people.

"but its wrong" Yes! Lots of things go wrong with progress. I'm not trying to determine the ethics of this. I'm trying to encourage consideration of adapting a distribution format that has already become universal. The most important family members I have is my granddaughters. (They are lovely, charming, brilliant, etc!!). If I want them to see any video or photo I make, it will have to be delivered in some fashion to their phones! DVDs and BluRays became useless to me. Instead of buying discs I buy an account on Vimeo. I can "text" them links. Try that with a disc!

Like the others on this thread I was very disappointed to find this version doesn't have a DVD option on my mac. I have a grandson with autism and one of the things he really enjoys when he visits is finding the DVD and putting it in the player himself. He loves to watch himself on holiday, playing with his cousins. It's become one of his comfortable routines.
I spent days editing the video of our last holiday with the 2019 version before I found the DVD problem. This morning I worked out that I could save the completed film as an mp4 file then close version 2019 and open my previous version 2015. Then I imported the mp4 file as a single asset and added a DVD menu and burned a DVD as previously.
Obviously this will only work if you still have a version on your Mac that does make DVDs.
Cheers
Mary
