At this URL: https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/premiere-elements/using/dock--undock--group-and-float-panels.html?utm_sou... Adobe talks in detail about docking and undocking of panels. Does this function work the way it is suggested? If so, I can't make it work and I've had Adobe products for decades. The two most obvious contenders for the process are Project Assets and Add Media. Yet these seem pretty immovable.
Now I know full well that Elements is not Pro. I have Pro; I geddit. But why go to great length to illustrate a feature in Elements that doesn't seem to do anything useful? Related to the this, why does the dual monitor mode not releaee all the function panels and why does full screen mode not offer a choice of monitor?

The document does talk in detail about docking etc., BUT in Elements docking is very, very limited.
The only thing I did was docking the Source Monitor with the Program Monitor.
One can move the toolbar around but I cannot get it to dock anywhere I like.

I actually tried to follow the advice in the document but only succeeded in removing the ability to access the Project Assets panel in its entirety. It wouldn't drop down, despite closing and reopening the programme. I had to reinstall the software. When you say: "The document does talk in detail about docking etc., BUT in Elements docking is very, very limited", the instructions are quite specific as to the abilities. Should Adobe not want to qualify their claims?

Are you talking about version 2025? Docking/undocking is a bit more effective in version 2025. Though, yes, you'r'e right. While sever panels can float, not all can.

Only 4 out of the 10 panel can be adjusted: that is what I call very limited.
If you read the help one is under the impression one can adjust all panels.
The help is just a copy from Premiere Pro's help, which is quite different.

I'm currently working off 2024 but didn't notice any particular improvement with the trial version of 2025. I'm working through the software with a friend who wants to do some basic editing regarding his legacy material. Of course, we all know that professional results and tools require reciprocal fees so he doesn't expect Pro level stuff. However, what is more irritating is that AI, particulary Google AI, picks up on what is out there in terms of help and instruction and almost always gets it wrong with regard to what Elements can and can't do, more often than not conflating it with Pro. I suspect quite a lot of that is down to ambiguous documentation.
