GTX 1080 not allowed to be used for Premiere Elements 2022?

Hello All,

I just got Elements 2022 and I have an Nvidia GTX 1080 and an Intel i7. Ive installed the latest drivers from NVIDIAs webiste for creators (Studio Driver, 512.96), yet the option in preferences to use my GPU for hardware accelleration is still greyed out. Ive rebooted, searched around these forms and none of the solutions appear to work. According to Adobes docs, this should work. Can anyone help please?!

You need to activate hidden items in Windows explorer first:

Then go to:

C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Premiere Elements\20.0\Online\Hw Acc Render\All_Lang\HW\Files\allowlisted_cards.txt

Then add the card exactly as shown below.

NVIDIA#NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080#

adding a line to a text file - the version number must be your version, so you may need to change the 20.0
--you of course also need to use the name of YOUR card, not the one discussed in the message below

I was attempting to follow that post, but I cant find the file in question. I did a search for the file name within the adobe folder/subfolders and nothing seemed to be found.
