There is no magic way to remove wind and other background noise from a video. That's why even professionals in Hollywood often have to re-record audio in movies and videos when they shoot in a noisy environment.

A good windscreen is the best way to prevent wind noise.

And you may be able to use Premiere Elements' Noise Gate effect to remove the sound between lines of dialog.

But there's really no way to somehow filter the wind noise out and leave the dialog behind.

Magix Audio Cleaning Lab has Wind Removal among it's cleaning effects. They have a free trial download so you could see if it helps your particular problem.

There are also many tutorials for trying to reduce wind noise with the free Audacity audio editor - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=audacity+wind+noise

Welcome to the forum.

Ambient noise is tough to remove, as others have stated, however it might be possible to attenuate it enough. This article gives some tips and suggestions: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/572518?tstart=0

You will also note that the Magix program, that Neale recommended is mentioned.

Good luck,

Hunt

You have a bunch of audio noise filters, High Pass, Low pass etc, Wind noises normaly are under  500Hz, so if you use the High pass and set it to 500Hz it will efective filter those under 500 Hz frequencies, be aware that human voice conversation normaly range from 500Hz to 1500Hz, all this of couse is not exact so depending of you audio material you should try different ranges.

Thanks, Carlos. However please note that this is an 11 year old thread. I'm not sure anyone involved in this conversation (except me) is still checking in. But your comments are helpful nonetheless.

Yes!  It improves speech recorded in noisy situations.  I used it, heard it used and watch demonstrations of it improving speech clarity by removing or reducing background noise.    That included noise from traffic, crowds and wind.
