16 Go de RAM, 1600 MHz DDR3 - Processeur 2,5 GHz Intel Core i7 quatre cœurs - Graphisme Intel Iris Pro 1536 Mo.

Its 8 years old, its not of the 7th generation. Its underpowered.

There are no simple HD files. Its all in the codec used. If the files are highly compressed the CPU wont cut it. Nor will the low frequency RAM.

What is the source of your files.

I take my videos with my Nikon Camera (D 850). The videos are 1920 × 1080 and the codec H.264, AAC.

What surprises me a lot is that on the same machine before upgrading my OS (Mac OS 10. ...) i used Premiere Elements 2020 without any problem !

Elemenst 2022 is not 2020 nor is Big Sur compared to the one before (High Sierra?)

Most likely the Nikon produces highly compressed files.

If you cannot just upgrade one element in the videochain.

Camera, computer, software they all need to match.
