Several weeks ago, you gave me the address of the Adobe site I visit to download my current version of Adobe Premiere (and Elements) onto a new computer. That’s the good news. When I now attempt to do that, I get the following error message:
To use adobe services, please update your Adobe applications, OS, and browser to the latest versions
Of course, I DID google this error message before writing to you, but I could not find anything useful. I DID go to my Google app and found that I was using the most current version. Though perhaps I need to download this Adobe program using IE or Edge. Also, I’m pretty sure that when I set up my new computer, everything updated itself first. So, I assume my OS is up to date (Windows 11 Pro.)
Lastly, I can say that, with the help of someone, I did try to copy almost all the files from my old computer and then, for the time being, copied it to the hard drive of my new computer. Included in those files are, I assume, the original files I purchased for Premier and Elements. Perhaps even 2 versions, since in the past, I bought 1 version in about 2014, and then updated in about 2019. Could those files be the culprit? I can get rid of those, if you could tell me what they would look like. I’d rather not get rid of the saved files from Premier, though I think they are labeled as “.prel.” But they might all be lumped together in 1 or more Adobe folders.
Lastly, I DID, I believe, have Adobe to open PDF’s on my old computer. Other than that, I don’t know of any Adobe apps I might have had.
Lastly, I did see a suggestion to download Adobe creative cloud, but it seemed there was a significant charge for that. Perhaps downloading a trial version would help me find the problem.
Thanks.

Thanks very much to you, Ann, and everyone else who shared. But, just before this last note from Ann, I had decided to try the Chat support from Adobe. After 2 days, many hours, and even them entering my computer on 2 different occasions, I finally have 2019 PE and photoshop on my new computer.

For serial number programs you may download only if you bought direct from Adobe
-Log in to your Adobe account and click this link https://account.adobe.com/products
--IF a download is available there will be a Download button under the program name

Thanks. I did buy it from Adobe. Also, I did go to that address, and my product and serial number were listed. Actually, 2 versions of Elements and 2 versions of Premier were listed, along with their serial numbers. The most recent Premier elements was version 17, though I believe it was called Premier Elements 2019. Again, when I clicked on the download link next to it, it did start the process but left me with the error message I mentioned at the beginning of this link.

Thanks for that suggestion, Bob P, but that did not work at all. I did download the supposed fix, but that made no difference. I even got rid of Chrome on my computer. I even--as some of the online sites suggessted--went to the Settings tab of Edge and said that I wanted IE to be active with the address: http://Account.adobe.com/products. Nothing has made a difference. I did buy this new powerful computer with one aim in mind, which was to run dense programs within Adobe Premiere elements. Meaning mixing and matching perhaps ahout 7-10, 5 minutes videos at a time. I have so far found this whole process of trying to download Adobe Premiere very frustrating. Though I do appreciate the support.

There must be something different on your computer.
Just tried installing E19 on W11 24H2 without any issue.
My browser is Firefox.

Not sure what 24H2 is. But if I don't get any other replies, I might just try to download Firefox and try it with that. Thanks.

Thanks for those detailed instructions. I have a few lines on top of that page. They say:
Sorry if this came up with small print.

Thank you, John, for taking the time to do that. Since I have not heard from Mr Peru--though I realize he understandably might be taking a few days off--I figured i'd try downloading Firefox this morning. That has been another unfruitful adventure. OF course, Firefox has been discontinued, but there are sites where it can still be donwloaded. One problem is that as you download, it's difficult to see which button will simply download Firefox, and which button donwloads all the other things they're trying to sell. I finally did find one site, and though I donwloaded it correctly. However, I cannot find it as an icon on my desktop or on my Start menu.
I did try to search for it in my file menu, and found 4 files named safari.browser. But none of them seemed to be the type that autoexecute--if that's what it's called. I'll try to copy the files below. If this is too complicated, I'll just wait. I'm not in a great rush, and am still using my older computer.
I actually tried to send a link that will hopefully show the 4 files that I can find in my computer regarding Safari.

Of course Firefox has not been discontinues.
Why do you have Safari on a Windows machine?
Uninstall all browsers except Edge which is MS and then install Firefox and make it your main browser.
How to insert photos

Thank you, Ann, for that info. I see what you are talking about, re: inserting photos. I'll try that next time.
But, as for installing Safari: I did have Chrome as well as Edge about a week ago. But when I had trouble installing my old version of Premiere Elements onto my new pc, I uninstalled Chrome. So, my only brower has been MS Edge. However, Mr Smith said that he was easily able to install Premier Elements from Firefox, so I was trying to download Firefox.. I have been unable to do that successfully.

If you mean me, I did not mention Firefox (that was Ann) I only said that I had no problems installing
For the record, I use the Edge browser that is the default in Windows 11

Lastly, I did see a suggestion to download Adobe creative cloud, but it seemed there was a significant charge for that.
The Creative Cloud Desktop app is free:

You might try installing it.

OK. I did just easily upload the Creative Cloud desktop. I searched and found that I should choose the "apps" tab from the choices on the far left. When I do that, I find several pages of apps. I find apps such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro. But, after looking 4 times, I cannot find Premier Elements. All in all, about 28 apps, but not mine (Premier elements.)

And, I should add, I AM signed in under Creative Cloud.

And yes, I see that was Ann the one who said she uses Firefox and that it was easy to install on that. Sorry.
Interestly--and perhaps this could be a clue--I just tried to install Creative Cloud on my OLD computer. The one which has Premiere elements installed, and which I've been using for years. So, even on this older computer, it doesn't even recognize Pemiere Elements. It doesn't mention that program on the long list of ALL the apps. Nor on the tab for Video apps. And, it doesn't mention Premier Elements on the right side of the page, under installed programs. It just mentions Adobe (for PDF's, etc) and something called, Camera roll. So perhaps Creative Cloud is not looking, or has not been instructed by me to look in the correct location. I do have 2 drives on each computer, so maybe it's looking at the wrong drive.

Elements is not part of the Creative Cloud.
Elements is a stand-alone software application.
You will only find Elements with your serial nr and a download link in your Adobe account if you have registered E19 with Adobe.

Thanks for clearing that up, Ann. However, as I've done about 10 times already, I went to this link, which I know by heart already--as does my computer. Account.adobe.com/products. I used MS Edge, the only browser I now have. Except possibly for IE. Again, I chose my product with its SN. It started to download, but again left me with the error page: Update your browser. Then, in smaller print: to use adobe services, please update your Adobe applications, OS, and browser to the latest versions. Windows and Edge are definitely the latest versions. I have some files for Adobe on the computer. But when I go to the Programs tab in Settings, Adobe is not mentioned. And, when I just search for Adobe files anywhere on my pc, about 8 are listed. But I'm not able to delete them.
Lastly, while searching, I saw a thread saying that this is simply a forum, not Adobe support. But, when I went to Adobe support and hit the tab that said something like, download to a new computer, it automatically transferred me to the creative cloud!!
This has been sort of like a horror show for me, though, to be fair, there's no element of anybody coming to murder me. So, I guess that's a good thing! Maybe more like the Twilight Zone.
Happy Holidays to all. I won't feel too deflated if this is not solved by tomorrow.

Thanks for those specific suggestions. If I'm able to download Firefox, I'll do just that. But I spent hours trying to download Firefox already. Apparently, you can't do it from the Apple site, because they don't support it anymore. At least for pc's. Then, when you try to do it from other sites, they keep piling on other programs, and it's difficult to tell--when you push the download button--whether you're downloading Firefox or those other programs. But, apparently I did, I believe yesterday, download Firefox. But there was no icon on my desktop, nor could I find it anywhere else--including under my Start programs. I guess I'll just keep trying.
Thanks again.
