Lost Audio

New Here ,
Jan 06, 2019 Jan 06, 2019

Last week I just upgraded from Premiere Elements 10 to Premiere Elements 2019.  I have clips downloaded from video camera when still working with Version 10 and when previewed they are fine, with video and audio intact.  As soon as I bring them into Organizer, the audio vanishes.  Video is fine.  Any ideas?

What operating system are you using?

Open the video in the free download MediaInfo. In  MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy and paste the report it generates to this forum.

I'm suspecting your video is using AC-3 audio and you're using Windows 7, which commonly has this issue.

Premiere Elements 2018 and Premiere Elements 2019 do not offer support of AC3 Dolby Digital audio. Instead, they rely on the operating system to provide that support. Windows 10 does; Windows 7 does not. Which is why this problem is unique to computer running this program on Windows 7.

Which means you have three options:

1) Upgrade your OS to Windows 10

2) Convert your video to an MP4 that uses PCM or uncompressed audio using the free download HandBrake; or

3) Background to version 15 or earlier of Premiere Elements
