Media import issue

I am using MP4 files shot on a Drift camera. Most files import with no problem but some show as audio only. The file plays OK in windows media player. Any suggestions as to how I might correct the issue so I can use the clip in Premier Elements please?

If most of your files import with no problem and camera setting remain the same, there may be a problem with the camera card or transfer process.

To "repair" the odd files, you might try Handbrake. It is free and might be able to read, then output a new file.

With Wales, Great Orme and fuel stop in your video title, I want to see the video!

Thanks so much. Just loaded "Handbrake" and run the offending file through it as a test. The new file imports, edits and plays fine in Adobe - result!

How do I let you see the video? We did a 1000 mile trip round Wales last February on motorcycles visiting 20 prescribed points that we had to photograph to prove we had been there. The Great Orme was one of the points.

There are actually many kinds of MP4s, believe it or not.

Open one of your videos in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy and paste the report it displays to this forum.

Once we know your video specs, we'll better be able to advise you.

(Of course it would also help to know which version of Premiere Elements you're using and on what operating system.)

Sorry didn`t copy the full report last time. I have compared this report to reports on other files shot at the same time and on the same card and I not this file is marked as "truncated". Is that significant? Premier Elements 2018 on Windows 8.
