Im trying to open an mp4 file in Prem El21 and only the audio file opens on the timeline.

Its a good file because it opens/plays properly on all my video players.

Any suggestions as to what may be causing the problem?

I will GUESS that the video inside that file uses a codec that the program can't use

MP4 is a wrapper, what is inside YOUR wrapper - Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the program below

What is the source of your video file?  Have clips from that source worked before?
