Hello everyone, I am brand new to premiere elements.

I bought it to trim and combine screen capture videos on Win10 with an ultrawide monitor (3440x1440) w/ 21:9 aspect ratio. The videos I capture look and play normally on windows media player but when I import or add them to PE2020 the videos are not fitting or rendering correctly. I've seen a couple different adjustments made. In one variation the video is shrunk and large green blocks are used to fill in the empty space around the video. The other adjustment I've seen shows the video being duplicated to fit into the empty space.

Any idea why this is happening and how I can fix this where I can work with ultrawide formats?

You will probably not have much success editing this video in Premiere Elements. Premiere Elements is designed to edit standard 16:9 camcorder video. Video at that aspect ratio, particularly if it uses non-standard codecs, will not edit well in this program and will likely cause you any number of problems.

What program are you recording your video with? Open one of those videos in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the text from this report and paste it to this forum. With this detailed report we may be able to offer you more specific advice on how to proceed.
