Trying to reinstall Adobe Premiere Elements on a new Windows Computer but it won't take the serial number.
I have a printed page from the original purchase with the redemption code and Serial Number. What options do I have to fix besides purchasing new software?
I haven't used the product for several years and trying to install on a newer system. Thanks in advance for any help.

>won't take the serial number
What does that mean?
What is the exact error message?
Is your serial number 6 groups of 4 numbers?

After further inspection I am getting a Pop-up window Adobe Photoshop Elements Trial after reinstall that is asking for a Serial number or continue to use as a trial. Yes, the serial number is 6 groups of four numbers. When I input the Serial number in the Pop-up window reports "The serial number is not valid for this product".
Thanks for your help.

In your original post, you said:
Trying to reinstall Adobe Premiere Elements
but in a later post, you said:

Which is the serial number for, Premiere Elements or Photoshop Elements?
Which are you trying to install?
Did you install both, but only have a license for Premiere Elements?
If so, you can use Photoshop Elements in trial mode for 30 days, and then it will cease to work.
Premiere Elements will continue to work if installed, and you go to Help > SIgn in or Help > Activate from the video editor menu.

Yes, it appears the reinstall from CD brought over both Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements. They are both on my desktop now. My License should be for Premiere Elements, this is the software I used before for making some movies and that is what I would like to get working. Sorry for the confusion.
When I try to open Premiere Elements, it brings up the same type pop-up window but is labeled for Premiere Elements Trial. I get the same error message about "The serial number is not valid for this product". If I bring up the trial version of Elements I can go to
Help-> Product Registration - I input my adobe ID and password then select submit and it says "An error has occured please try again after sometime. Thanks again.

I have the v2021 bundle on DVD and there are TWO serial numbers, one for each product... so be sure you are entering the correct serial number for the specific program
Also, v10 is VERY old and the activation server may have been removed from service... if that is your 'new' problem you will have to buy a new version
I don't know if this also means that the old PrElements activation server is gone
The CS2-CS3-CS4 activation servers have been removed from service
-https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite.html?promoid=19SCDRQK
-So even if you have a disc or saved download, CS2-CS3-CS4 are completely dead
If you want to buy on DVD check Amazon... as far as I know Adobe only sells via download

I haved the oroginal paperwork so I have the correct Serial number.
Yes, I beleive I got the software on CD in 2012. The box the software is in is labeled PRE, 10.0 ,MLP, CSGN, UE, 001, DV, MB S2 POSA
I was hoping I could still use the software even tho it is really old. I don't need any new features. Not sure I will purchase new Adobe Software. Thanks for your help!

Version 10 is so old. Any new Windows computer has an operating system that Premier Elements 10 isn't going to fit well with. If it were me and I had a new computer, I would not load it with old software. Update if you like Premiere Elements. If you don't there are other current choices that will be much less trouble.

Thanks all for your help! It does appear my Adobe software is way out of date... The laptop I moved to is old school as well, 8GB ram, Intel® Core™ i7 processor and running Windows version 10. Maybe I need to upgrade my hardware and OS as well..... 🙂
I'm looking to put together home movies from GoPro Ski videos, nothing too professional. If there isn't a free upgrade path for Premier Elements 10 then I'll look for new software, something that is not resource intensive and might work with my current Hardware and OS, otherwise I'll need to upgrade hardware.
Thanks again for everyone's inputs and help.

I think you will need to upgrade hardware to edit GoPro footage.
