Premiere Elements 14 crashes on my mac when I press the 'down' arrow key

When I press the 'down' arrow key in Premiere, it quits immediately. I've looked for updates, but the latest is 2012, and I downloaded the software in 2016.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure how you're running a Premiere Elements 14 from 2012 when the program wasn't even released until 2015, but oh well.

When did you last check your Mac for corrupted fonts? Corrupted fonts are the chief cause of unstable video and photo editor performance.

(Also, what operating system are you running?)
