Premiere Elements 2022 Burn Disc option.

Hi,

I have PE 15 where I can burn my project with menues directly to a Blu-ray disc or as a ISO disc image file.

I have watched Steve Grisetti YouTube Basic Training for Adobe Premiere Elements 2022 tutorial part 8 where he demonstrated how to publish a project to social media but not to a disc. There is a disc icon in PE 2022 which suggests that it is possible to burn a project directly to a disc or as a a ISO disc image file as I do in PE 15. But I am not 100% sure that it is the case.

Steve, please let me and other PE users know if the disc option is activated in PE 2022.

Thanks. Lev.

in 2022 you can burn directly to a disc or iso image, these options are NOT available in 2023

So Adobe eliminated a Blu-Ray option (creation of ISO image or burn directly to BD) in PE higher than version 15 but kept DVD option  (creation of ISO image or burn directly to DVD) but in in PE 2023 Adobe eliminated DVD too.

It means that PE also eliminated menu option. It all makes PE much less desirable for many users but Adobe does care much about it.

you can in version 2022  but can not in version 2023 as i have just found out, it still has menu marker in the tabs, but you click on it and it doesnt do anything, then i noticed the dvd tab was missing. pretty stupid, i know dvds are on their way out but many ppl still need dvd, i burn to dvd all the time for my business, so ive put both version 2022 and 2023 on all my 4 comps

I have both PE 15 and PE 2022 on my computer. I mostly use PE 2022 for editing then convert the project into mp4 UHD format to save it to a memory stick and watch it on my UHD TV. I also open this mp4 file in PE 15,  add a menu and publish it on a BD disk. You also can do all the editing in PE 15 that has an output to DVD and BD but I found PE 2022 slightly more sophisticated. It seems that there is no sense for me to upgrade PE 2022 to PE 2023.

Disc creation has been removed from the 2023 version

Hi, I have a different problem with burning DVDs - the option "disc" doesn't exist in the "export & share" window. I just get "quick export", "devices", "social media", "audio" and "image". This is on a Mac running 10.15.7. There's a burner connected and even if it wasn't, it should give me the option to burn a disc folder, right? Any ideas are welcome, since I bought Premiere Elements specifically for this feature since I struggled with DaVinci on this issue.

Cheers, J.

Look at my message date 10-8-21 just above your message... looks like no DVD with the Mac version

Building on Steve's reply, Blu-Ray burning went away a year or two ago.  I don't have a Mac, but I don't think disc burning of any sort works on current Apple computers.   (I don't have 2022 or a Mac, so I could be wrong.)

See my 10-07-21 reply in https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-elements-discussions/demos-of-new-features-in-premiere-elements-2022/td-p/12437234

The feature comparison SAYS you may burn a DVD with a Mac... since I am Windows I can't verify the truth of that

ADDED 10-17

The feature list for v2022 has been changed by Adobe to remove DVD creation with a Mac, so I guess the earlier list was an error

Of course you can create a DVD of your movie.  I've got separate tutorials on how to do it and my book covers it very thoroughly.

Hi Steve,

If the project output in PE 2022 MP4 - H.264 or MP4 -XAVC - S file it will not contain a menu I have created in the project.

Is my understanding correct?

Which output should I select that contained all (including menu and submenus) I created in the project?

I will use this file in another software to create BD ISO file and burn BD disc or create 4K ISO (and burn 4K disc if 4K burners and 4K discs are available. I do not know it they really exist).

Thanks. Lev.

I'm not Steve, but I have read other messages saying that it is NOT possible to open a 'new' project in an 'old' program

If PrE 15 works for what you want to do, stay with that version

Thank you John.

I believe there is a lot of cool stuff added in PE 2022 if we compare it with PE 15 but if it is possible I would have preferred to create a project in a more sophisticated environment and still be able to have an output as a Blu-Ray ISO.

What if create HD or UHD MP4 file in PE 2022. It will contain all music, commens, titles, etc. except menus and then I open it in another software that will allow me to create a menu and export the final product as Blu-Ray ISO.

Ann Bens suggested that I can do it in BD authorizing program like

TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 - The Ultimate DVD / Blu-ray / AVCHD Authoring Tool - Pegasys Inc.

Did you or anyone you know in PE community created HD or UHD MP4 file in PE 2022 and contunued working on it in another software: added a menu and saved a final project as an ISO file?
