Problems for non-Nvidia users?

Premiere Elements 8 users,

If you're experiencing frequent crashes or freezes in Premiere Elements 8, and you're NOT using an Nvidia graphics card, then we need to know about it. Please post a reply to this thread specifically if you do not have an Nvidia card. We are trying to gauge whether there are other crash issues in PRE8 that are not related to the driver issues mentioned in the announcement at the top of the forum.

Best regards,

Chad

You can download the patch via Adobe Downloader from any running Adobe software (e.g. PSE). But here is also a link Premiere 8.0.1 patch now available by direct download

I have only had Adobe Photoshop and Premiere for a few days and Premiere crashes constantly.  I am planning to call the company and complain - and keep doing so until this is fixed.  It's ridiculous to spend this much money and have a product that is unusable.  I was able at one point to begin a project, but barely got through any of it before it crashed.  Now I can't even start a new project.  It won't let me in at all.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with 1.5 gb of ram and a 75 gig hd that isn't even half full.

It has a Mobile Intel(R) 945 GM Chipset Family video card version 6.14.10.4436.

The program should run fine.  I was using WinDVD that came with the computer before this.  I bought this program because of it had more options for the video, but what good is that if it won't work.

Please fix this immediately.  I have projects I have to do very soon.

Thank-you.

It doesn't seem they have any fixes.  I contacted them to let them know I'm sending this junk software back.  If anyone knows of some video editing software that works let me know.  I may order Photoshop because that did seem to work fine, but Premiere was worthless.

With an underpowered laptop, the tips in this ARTICLE are probably much more important to setting up your computer and getting ready for a video-editing session.

Many years ago, I had a Toshiba laptop, and it took me a full week to get all of the "bloatware" off of it. Back then, they pre-loaded AOL, and that took a manual Registry clean to rid the system.

Good luck,

Hunt
