Re: CREATING A SLIDESHOW WITHOUT USING A TEMPLATE

I have Premiere Elements and would like to build slide shows.  Unfortunately I keep getting dumped into Organizer which I don't use and son't want to use.  I have been able to create slideshows within Organizer but only with the limited themes available.  Is there anyway to do something different?

What OS and version of Elements are you using?

I don't understand what you mean when you say you keep getting dumped into the Organizer.  Please explain.

In Premiere Elements, you can create a fully featured slideshow, with photos (and/or videos) stored on your computer without touching the Organizer.  Slides can be held on screen for as long as you want and there are a multitude of transitions you can use.  Music can be of any length and your choice, and there are tools to match the beat and fit a piece of music to a certain length.

Hoping to add to Greg's reply, Premiere Elements treats photos and video clips the same.   You add media you want to use to the Project Assets box and drag them to the timeline.  There are a few less obvious techniques to control still display durattion, but other than that timeline editing and output are the same.    JPEGs sized to fit your intended display are preferable unless you don't mind black bar framing.
