Why can't I used a second monitor for playback on Premiere Elements 2020?
I know this is possible on Premiere Pro via the preference/playback/ 2 monitors.
Am I missing something here??

Did you look at the Dual Monitor Workspace choice in the Windows menu? To turn it off you use Restore Workspace in the same menu. It is not the same as Premiere Pro, but very little is.

I don't now, but when I had a second monitor, I slid the time line to it. That put the playback at full screen on the primary. You might be able to switch it. Again, Premiere Elements is intended to be the, lower cost, little brother/sister. Lots of "pro" advanced features are left out.

Bill is right. With Premiere Elements, you can separate the timeline from the rest of the interface, but that's as far as it goes. You can't separate the Monitor panel and make it a floating window.

Please clue me in as to how this is done. Thanks!

When I had a second monitor, I remember selecting the Dual Monitor Workspace on the Windows menu. Then I would click and drag the timeline to that second monitor. The function is quite limited.
