Hello
I get an error message when importing Fujifilm RAF still images captured by the XT-30II into Premiere Elements 2022.
It seems to work with RAF files from an X-E3.
Unfortunately the Supported file formats in Adobe Premiere Elements page does refer to raw files only in an unqualified way: "Camera raw files (.cr2, .dng, .nef, .orf, and others)"
May I expect to get updates to include at least the raw formates available in the year before the releasse (i.e. support for formats in 2021 in the 2022 release)?

Are you able to open those photo files in Photoshop Elements 2022?
Premiere Elements is primarily a video editor. It's not really designed to edit RAW files.

Thomas,
Steve and I have disagreed on this before! My view is that Premiere Elements is an outstanding slideshow or composite video creation tool. To Steve's point, once imported into Premiere Elements, RAW files do not benefit from the range of editing possibilities in RAW editors like Lightroom Classic, Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
Unlike Premiere Pro, it has the ability to incorporate RAW files. It even will read adjustments made in Lightroom Classic if the option for XMP "sidecar files" is turned on. Lightroom has it's own slideshow module, but I think Premiere Elements is far better. In Premiere Elements, you can make 4K slideshows for your 4K TV direct from RAW files. Niether Lightroom Classic or Premiere Pro can do that!
This table shows that the XT-30II requires ACR version 14.0 and the X-E3 uses ACR version 10.0. Adobe is now up to version 14.1 in their Photoshop/Lightroom apps.

This table shows that Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements through 2021 were updated through ACR 13.0 but does not list PrE 2022. The table suggests that there is a long history of ACR use and updates to Premiere Elements.

My experience is that Adobe will surprise us with a Premiere Elements update 2 or 3 times during the market cycle year but it is usually months behind the more publicized releases for the Creative Cloud apps. In other words, you may get an update in coming months that will allow direct use of your new camera's RAW files.
Until then consider converting the XT-30II RAW files to the Adobe DNG RAW format. It is a lossless conversion and can be done in Lightroom Classic or with the free, downloadable, Adobe DNG Converter. https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/using/adobe-dng-converter.html

Steve, Bill,
thank you for your replies. I actually do not have Photoshop Elements at all. I am using different tools to develop my raw files.
I wanted to skip some steps when creating time laspse videos from a series of raw files I have, so importing them directly into Premiere Elemenst and then do some basic adjustements there.
In the meantime I am using my raw editor to batch-create JPG files and use those for creating the video.
I will monitor updates to Premirere Elements and hopefully note, when an update for ACR will come through.
Thanks again!
