Hi,

Does anyone know how to open a TGA file in Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Ver 11.0 or even if that is possible with this version?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You've posted your question to the Premiere Elements forum rather than the Photoshop Elements forum.

But that said, Photoshop Elements does not open or save Targa files.

Both Photoshop Pro CC and Illustrator CC can work with TGAs.

Since many assets from developer is in Targa format (as this format is still a widly standart used in the professionel industry today), I hoped for the last decade that Photoshop Element would mature and understand the need of the support of Targa files.

But there is a work-around. I use a free software called GIMP to convert *.TGA to *.PNG. Once converted you can load the *.PNG file into Photoshop Element. If you need to save as *.TGA when you're done editing then save your file as .PNG and use GIMP to convert from *.PNG to *.TGA in GIMP. (gimp dot org)

I hope this can help other Adobe Photoshop Element supporters! If you have already bought and supported Adobe by buying Photoshop Element for your image manipulation, buying Photoshop Pro CC or Illustrator CC membership to save your file in Targa format seem a bit overpriced.
