To close a project and open another, I am forced to Exit the application and re-open it. Is this normal for Primiere Elements 2022? I downloaded this program with Photoshop Elements last year but am finally needing to use it now. Did I receive a bad download?
Do a Save and then Open a New Project. Or, if you simply select open a new Project, it will ask you if you want to save. If you exit, it will also ask if you want to save your work.
There are times that you don't want to save becuase you don't like your recent edits.
You may also like to take advantage of Save As using version numbers because you can work that to try various edits and return to where you were by opening the previous version.
Elements does not have a close project, instead
Try File > Open Project or use the HOME screen with a list of your resent projects.

Yes. Thank you Bill, I appreciate your suggestions, although I did find those solutions before I posted my frustration. Also removing clips from the project assets after saving the project allows me to start a new project without closing the application and waiting for it to reload. It all just seems counter intuitive compared to a simple: save, close > open new.

Yes. Thank you Ann. Knowing for sure that Elements does not have a close project option is helpful. In fact I have been doing what you suggest. It just seems so counter intuitive compared to a simple close and save, > open new. Another thing: after rendering and exporting a project I cant go back in and add an additional transition. Is that the way it works in Elements? Its like a PDF that one can't adjust.
