Video plays speed x 12 in PE2014 (audio normal)

Some of the video clips in my PE14 project are exposed in a strange way. The video track are running approx 12 times faster than normal - the video scene repeats again and again until the audio track ends. The audio plays normal and with normal speed. And there are differences between video clips captured the same day, with same length and with the same video camera.

Using win 10. Had no problems in my previous laptop. Videoclips runs normal in Win Media Player so it seems to be something wrong with PE14 setting, not OS-related.

Any explanations out there? Can settings in graphic or audio card cause this? Have tried to change different settings in audio card but it makes no difference. Have tried to render the video, restart project etc. without progress...

    What is the source of the video clips?  What are the project settings and how were they set?

    Canon Legria

    Default settings in PE

    I can not understand how video clips captured under identical circumstances can be normal in one clip and not in the following clip. The project is a bit extensive with approx 200 video clips, music etc imported - can that be a reason even if I have computer with enough RAM etc.

    i can attach screen dumps of settings for OK/not Ok video clips if you like?

    @WHSPRAGUE:

    It works! I am so happy. Everything seems to launch perfect after inactivating Hardware acceleration.  YEEEES!

    About the other ideas: a bit confusing before because the orange line occured above both functioning an non functioning video clips - there was no logic in that at all...

    Good news!

    The orange line can show up for a variety of reasons.  It is only an indicator that previews during editing might be smoother if you "render" the previews.  If all is well and smooth, rendering for previews is not necessary.
