Question

Will PE 2019 edit 10-bit MP4?

I've just purchased a Canon EOS-R 35mm capable of shooting 10-bit mp4. It records 8-bit MP4, but requires an external recorder to record the 10-bit Mp4 video. I've also purchased the Atomos Ninja V monitor/recorder to record the 10-bit MP4 files, using Canon log-1 for broader dynamic range. I have installed Premiere Elements 2019 for editing. Early experiments with 8-bit MP4 files and edits have gone well. Will soon attempt recording in 10-bit MP4. Will PE19 be able to edit the 10-bit MP4 files?

Elements will edit but wont take advantage of the 10 bit nor are you able to apply luts.

With equipment/footage like that get a better NLE such as Premiere Pro. Its like putting a ferrari engine in a volkswagen.

Not to sound like a smart aleck, but the best way to find out is to try it.

Premiere Elements is designed to work with consumer video formats though.
