Every interface click takes 5 to 7 serconds

Community Beginner ,
Sep 01, 2024 Sep 01, 2024

Hi, working on a rather heavy timeline again, but never had any issues.

Now working with multi cam, and having to wait 5 to 7 seconds for each action in the interface (yes, every interface click, every timeline action).

Not being able to work unfortunately and the project cant open in older versions anymore.

Any ideas what to do here?

Can a project be corrupted?

What Beta version/build are you on?

If this is a new bug in Beta, just have to wait for a fixed build. There are a variety of possible workarounds, some very unexpected. For example, there is a long thread regarding the Release version that is helped by closing the effect controls panel. I have not kept up with all the various issues and workarounds.

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/detailed-report-premiere-pro-2024-has-some-severe-u...

Or Essential Graphics in browse mode [no longer in Beta, but I'm just giving a couple examples]:

Correct: Beta 25.0 is a new Project File version, and a file saved in Beta 25 cannot be opened in PR 24.

Hi all, thanks for replying.

I'm now on version: Premiere Pro (Beta) v25.0.0.44, issues in this particular project started in the version before this one.

Eventually I ended up creating a new project and manually copying all clips from my sequences to new sequences, then the problems stopped.

disregard my last post, it is now worse unfortunately.

The newly created project is also bugging, but instead of hanging, it just crashes now. Can't open the project anymore. The moment it does open after trying 4 times, it crashes immediately after selecting a clip on the timeline.

The sequence contains multi cam content

Hmmm... tough one.

Do you have the shipping version 24.6.1? Maybe you can try to import into a new project in that version? At least for a test.

Beta 25.x projects are a newer project file version and can't be opened/imported to PR 24.

100+ hours of work wasted is very frustrating with no way of getting it into a new project (cant even select anything on the timeline anymore since the last update without it crashing).

Browsing this forum, it seems more people are experiencing the same problem, so I assume it's on the radar at Adobe.

Will probably not be using Premiere Pro beta anymore going forward, lessons learned unfortunately.

Downgraded the project to open it in normale Premiere pro, using https://downgrader.elements.tv/ (mentioned here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-beta-bugs/premire-pro-beta-2-50-crashes-with-60-seconds/...)

At first glance, it seems to work properly, including my multi cam footage.

FWIW: Here's an easy way to downgrade a project without having to upload it somewhere:

Open Premiere project in an older version

I'm still on Build 29, but many reports of Build 44 crashing for many reasons. Wait for new build and test again.

New version 25.1 fixes this issue.

Reposting here what I also posted in a different thread regarding this major bug:

Going forward however, I am really hoping the quality process will be thouroughly reviewed. As mentioned by other, so many projects were in total limbo for days.

It cannot be that such an obvious bug that even comes to expression in NEW projects (first test case I assume for the quality department), get shipped to every beta program user.

Really hoping this is taken seriously and improvements are made in this process.

25.1 build 2 fixes the constant crashing, but the hanging is back for me. It is not fixed. Sluggish interface, seconds waiting for something to happen when selecting a clip. Completely unresponsive during that time.

To be clear, the downgraded project (using https://downgrader.elements.tv/) works super smooth and fine in the stable premiere pro.

Just removed all Adobe beta programs, I am permanently switching to the stable versions (some minor improvements do not justify the risk of not being able to work on a project for days or even weeks).

@Matthijs29620061qgxh
