Premiere Pro (Beta) Not Opening Projects

Premiere Pro Beta will not open any projects with latest update (24.5). Projects fills loading bar then immediately shuts down the app & pops up the "Adobe Creative Cloud Diagnostics" app but doesn't load that either.

on OS Sonoma Version 14.4.1

Was able to open the Premiere Pro (Beta) project in the regular Premiere Pro App (24.3)

I installed Premiere Pro Beta 24.5.0.11 today. Opened a project that I completed with PP Public, and PP Beta crashed.

Same here.  Premier Beta crashes opening any project.  I tried several.

Probably piling on here, but honestly, adding support for MKV file import would save me probably 10+ hours a week or more.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add MKV file import.  (I personally hate MKV files, but they are a thing and there is no way to avoid it 😞  )

I have the same problem, so I'm answering to keep acess to updates.

Also, answering to your MKV request, I suggest you download OBS and take advantage of their remux recording option.

Instead of an OBS recording, you point it to the MKV you want in MP4 and it will convert it to MP4 in a jiff.

Not the best thing, but works.

I'm having the same problem with PP Beta 24.5.0 Beta 11. I can open the application, but as soon as I open any file, it crashes. These files opened in previous betas. I wanted to try markers in the transcript feature.

I realize it's a beta, but I would have thought they would just re-release the previous build with a new build number to get it up and running again

@J-TIZZO you open the creative cloud launcher. navigate to apps on the side.
under the categories. select "beta apps" (the same place you go to install the beta release the first time)

under installed apps. press the (***) next to open. and select "older version"
then simply click install on the older version

Hope this helps!

Not true, that OBS function does no conversion, it just remuxes the audio and video stream from a MKV to MP4 container.

Meaning when you tested it means the MKV you remuxed was in VP09, so either way wasn't gonna be supported.

I've been working on a project directly in Premiere Beta for more than a week. Yesterday it worked fine, today it keeps crashing. The project opens just fine in Premiere Pro, but Beta crashes even if I try to create a new project.

Just upgraded the beta to 24.5.0 Build 12 today, and I'm having the same problem. I can launch the program, but any project I open, the application just quits.

I just finished editing my feature a few days ago so now I'm starting work on my sound design, but Premiere Pro Beta wont load my project. The project will load all the way up to 100% then crash. Now my project will load up in Premiere Pro with no problems, but I rather work in Beta. Seems like Beta runs smoother. I've also tried to create a new project to import my old project but Beta crashes after I click on "create''.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled, still the same. What the hell is going on? Can someone help me out?  Thanks

Hi Adobe Support Team,

Yesterday, I have encountered issues problem where Premiere Beta fails to open any of my projects. Unlike the normal Premiere version, which functions smoothly, the beta version consistently displays an error message and refuses to load any project files nor a new project.

I have already attempted basic troubleshooting steps such as reinstalling the software and checking for updates, but to no avail. The error persists regardless of the actions I take.

I've also updated the app this morning when prompted, but unfortunately, the issue remains unresolved. Additionally, I noticed that the opening panel of the interface appears to be behaving strangely.

Could you please investigate this issue? If there are any specific logs or diagnostic information you require from me to assist with troubleshooting, please let me know, and I will gladly provide them!

Thank you,

Hello there everyone, I hope you are all well.

Straight to the point, I've updated the Premiere Pro Beta to the latest version yesterday, after the update whenever I open the app, the project panel appears and if I choose any project it will automatically shutdown and I'm not able to find a solution!

I'm using Macbook pro M1.

For ppl still having this issue, build 13 for the beta fixes the project open insta-crash issue. I had a friend confirm it on the Windows side and I can confirm it on the Mac side.

I have the same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled the application several times, deleted the cache and directories, and nothing helped. I can't even create an empty project without imported media. Beta crushes immediately.
