Scene Edit Detection: Create Clip Marker Not Working

Hi there,
The short of it is that the 'Create Clip Marker...' feature within Scene Edit Detection isn't working, at least not for me.  It creates the cut points no problem, but not the markers.  I dragged the clip to the New Item icon so the sequence settings match the clip.  Just running Scene Edit Detection normally didn't work.  I tried removing the audio and running it again... that didn't work.  I also tried to nest the video and run it and that didn't work.  Lastly, I tried it on the clip within the nest itself and that didn't work.  Not sure what else to do...

@KWStrick I'm sorry that's happening. So in all the different things you described trying, it did work to create the cuts, but did not work to create the markers?

You mentioned 24.5 Beta – we're a whole version ahead in Beta now on 24.6. Could you update to the latest Beta and give it another try?

Hi Matt,
I'm now on 24.6 (Build 17) and still get the same results.  I tried the same methods above and no dice.  It can make cuts, but no markers.  For what its worth, the source file is a 20-minute mp4 of concert footage (and I have 12 of them from separate concerts).  I exported a 60-second chunk to ProRes proxy, reimported and gave it a shot and that didn't work on making markers, either.  I imported a couple other various mp4's to make sure it wasn't file specific and no luck.  Cuts only, no markers.

Interestingly, it works just fine in PP 23.6.5 on the exact same file, both cuts and markers.  The only workaround I've been able to figure out thus far is to let scene edit detection go through and make the cuts.  Then go through and fix any 'wrong cuts' (ie, there's flashing lights at a concert so it sometimes thinks those are separate clips) and then add markers to the timeline of the clip and export.  Importing that new clip then has the markers already embedded in it.

Perhaps there was a break in the functionality/code of some kind between PP 23 and 24?

Thank you.

@KWStrick That's so strange. Would you be able to send me the media file and your project? Nothing we're trying internally is getting Scene Edit Detection to fail so we want to see if it's something in your media or project. If you're up for that, send me a DM on these forums (mailbox icon in the top right) and either send me a link or tell me what email address I can send an upload link to. Thanks.
