Marjorie,
A number of U2U users are having issues with freezes/hangs when trying to use H.264/HEVC exporting. They apparently can get around this by turning off Hardware accelerated encoding in the Preferences/Media folder.

Hi Neil, Thanks for your post! We think we have identified the issue and have a possible fix in place. We will ask users to try it out in Beta build and roll out the fix soon. As you mentioned, workaround to turn OFF the HW encode will work.
Thanks

Prores Raw is just working for a limited time - then the application stops working propably.
1. The thumbnails/projectfile-browser not shows up.
2. The media is PENDING... *sigh*
3. Greyed out application - hangs when browsing media in projectbrowser.
4. need restart, the application crashes OR it does not show any more than greyed out - need to force-kill it in process manager... *sigh againg*
I have tried using internal raidsystem for media instead of USB attached SSD-drives. No difference at all..
This is not what I call a proper version - accepted product for professional use.. this is a MESS!

I'm having no issues with ProRes RAW here ... nor are there tons of others. So how about troubleshooting what's causing the problem on your system?
First, did you import/ingest the media through the Media Browser panel or ... how?
Second, after moving the media to the internal drives (I think a wise move) ... did you delete all cache files before continuing to work? If not, I would delete all cache files, relaunch, import via the Media Browser, and see if that works better.
