We are making some changes behind the scenes which will temporarily disable automatic splitting of speakers (Speaker 1, Speaker 2) in release and older beta builds. Don’t worry! We know it’s an important feature. It will be back in release builds as soon as possible. Note: The feature is up and running in the latest Premiere Pro (beta) 15.4 build 31 or later.

If you are in the early access program for Speech to Text and you have multiple speakers in your footage, we recommend using Transcription in the latest beta build of Premiere Pro.

Request for followup information, now that the speaker options are live in the release 15.4.

For example, see this thread in the regular forum:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/show-speaker-name-with-captions-in-premiere-pro/td-p/122...

And this feature request:

https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/42901230-beta-add-speaker-n...

In 15.4 Release version and in Beta 22.0.0 Build 32, the speaker names do not appear in the created caption track. What is the plan?

I am assuming that the presence of speakers in the transcription (and being able to edit the speaker names) is in preparation to include them in the caption text that appears on screen. And I assume this would include an option to not inlude them. Also, there are many requests to include speaker name (and timecode) in the text file export of the transcript and of captions.

And there are requests to handle multiple speakers by setting the style differently - something more elegant than a) manually creating segment blocks and b) having a single style that applies to the entire track and all segments and blocks in it. This is really a subset of requests to handle multiple streams/tracks of captions in the sequence.
