Adding Text Block/ Paragraph/ Bulletpoints without having to use a "Title" in RUSH

Community Beginner ,

The only text option I've been able to find is the "Title" text block, it seems there's no other options beyond that. That's shockingly basic, so I feel like maybe I'm missing something?

I tried to research, but all my findings imply that even though it's been an ongoing complaint and shortcoming since the get-go ( https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/916423-premiere-rush/suggestions/35747449-add-text-text-box ), "Title" blocks are still the only text option (https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-rush-discussions/adding-text/m-p/12631682#M12275 )...? Having said that, I haven't actually found anywhere confirming that is the case, so just want to ask it clearly:

1. Are "Title" blocks the only way of adding text to a video?
2. If the answer above is yes, is there any talk to make updates in the foreseeable future (within the next 6 months)?
3. If the answer above is no (please be the case!), then... how do I go about getting just a regular old, normal text box like you would in Premiere Pro or Adobe Acrobat?

Sorry to have to put it so blunt- it would just honstly be really great to be able to have the option to indent, center things, and generally just do what you want from the start instead of having to find a template that's somewhat close to what we envision, and then try to undo it and experiment with tweaking it to see if you can make it into what you envisioned.  It seems like I'm not the only one who's asking for this.

And if that's not going to happen at any point, better to know now before I wrestle with the program too much.

Hey there!

Sorry this workflow isn't suiting you. Yes, adding graphics and titles is the only way to add text to the video! The graphics features will not be expanded in the next 6 months. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm glad I could tell you so you know what you're working with! We meet with our engineering team regularly to share these kinds of requests, i'm happy to put in a word for you.

Thanks!

Caroline

Hello,

Has the "engineering team" done anything to have the capability to add non moving, static text to a video?

You are spot on with your observations and found your post trying to solve the same issue.

Why cant we just add a text box?

I'm testing out the product, and it's looking like this is a deal breaker. Since the video editing features in Adobe Express are so primitive and the text features are so primitive in Adobe Rush, I'm king of surprised these products exist! Maybe that's why CapCut has been doing so well?

hello, I feel the same way. The text box is a basic and essential tool. I was excited for Premiere Rush but will now not be using it.

I also am extremely frustrated at the lack of simple, yet editable text options in Rush. I switched to it from iMovie which arguably is an inferior product, however it has better text editing. Maybe I'll go back to iMovie or upgrade to a better version.

please please please make this available!!!

YES, this! All my edits are for social, so the quick editing tools are super handy, but adding text is so frustrating. There’s no simple text or captions tool, and I always end up editing in Rush, exporting, then importing into Canva just to add clean text. Adding this tool would make a world of difference esp being able to line up easily with each clip!
