Frame Size

I am trying to find out the frame size for Rush as we are inserting individual images but want to insert it at the right size rather than something smaller and having to zoom in.

      As cmgap explained, Rush allows you to manually set the aspect ratio of the sequence via the button below, which sits below the monitor on desktop and iPad; on iPhone, you'll find it on the bottom bar.

      But aspect ratio is very different from frame size (or "resolution"). Rush supports three resolutions: 720, 1080, and 4K (2160). If any video clips are among the initial media added to a sequence, then Rush automatically matches both the aspect ratio and resolution of the first video clip. If no video clips are among the initial media, then Rush defaults to landscape at 1080.

      Photos that are larger than resolution of the sequence are automatically scaled down to fit in the frame.

      If you're working chiefly with digital photographs and you want the highest resolution available in Rush, then I recommend keeping two 4K video clips handy (one landscape, the other portrait). Use one of them when you create the sequence. That will make the sequence 4K. You can then delete the video clip and add your photos.

        I just want to thank you for posting this.  There have been many comments regarding this since you posted this sokution. Clearly people arent finding your solution and another asobe employee offered no solution and just offered his apologies.  YOU... in the other hand orovided the solution I desperatlt needed which kept me from having to rebuild eveything in DaVinci.  Yes, I did have to rebuild the video in Rush, but I was able to donit relatively quickly.  Not the most desirable resolution, but a goodnone all the same.

         

        As all of my images and videos were high resolution I don't know why the option to export originally was 720.  I didn't need to replace any media.  What I did do when rebuilding it was to put in a couple of videos and oics and then test rhe export.  When it said 1080p, I went ahead and dimped in everything else.

         

        anyhow, I think itnwould be good if your post were more easily found.  Posts from support staff in recent years have not offered the solution you have.  Its worth letting other support staff know.  It seems to be effecting a lot of RUSH users.

        There are three frames sizes to choose from – sizing your images to insert them at the proper ratio will depend on whether you choose  portrait, landscape or  square.

        Once you've decided which ratio you want your project to be you can crop either before you add your images to the project or directly in Rush. Depending on the quality of your photos there shouldn't be a problem with changing the size via the crop tool in Rush to fill your  frame. Test a couple of images to get a  baseline.
