HEVC codec issue STILL with us in 2023???

I have a photography subscription and a GoPro Hero 11. I just shot over 40 minutes of clips, imported them, edited them, rendered the video to 780p no issues. I went to reshoot two clips now all of a sudden Rush cannot display previews or play the clips?? I find out this has been going on for 2 years?? What the actual Adobe?? Is this some sort of planned thing that once you start using it the bug pops up and the only way to fix it is by upgrading to Pro? The lack of support here makes me want to switch to Final Cut or Resolve.

Per suggestions I've found here over a year ago, I downgraded my Rush ver, to 1.5.54.  By the way I have a Photo subscription(Lightroom & Photoshop AND a Rush subscription). That solved the problem for a day or so, then it came back.  A chat with Adobe support today uncovered the following...apparently there's a "basic" version of Rush embedded in either Lightroom or Photoshop that conflicts with the "premium" version of Rush I pay for.  Support suggested I log out of Creative Cloud and all other Adobe apps, restart pc.  After doing that the "HEVC codec" error disappeared and all worked perfectly with ver. 1.5.54.  I have not reinstalled the latest ver. of Rush to determine if it also will function properly.  But...problem solved for now.

Thanks. We have two CC subscriptions in our house, one for my business (LR/PS) and one for Adobe (on a personal machine). We also have both PC’s (Alienware) and Mac’s (MBPro). We will try logging in on the account w/o LR/PS and see if that solves the issue. I don’t have the issue on my Mac but it’s an older one and the processor is pretty slow. The intent was to edit on the Alienware. We are upgrading to Pro very soon as we realized Rush doesn’t offer us enough features for all we want to do with video. Thank you again for taking the time to reply!
