Question

How to import files from network shared drive?

I have all of my source material on a shared drive through windows 10.
Is there a way to import and modify files on a different machine on my local network?

The machine the data is on, is a very old system, and cannot be used as a productivity system. I use it as my file server.
I want to be able to access the data on it from a system THAT IS A WORKSTATION, and can run productivity software, like the many programs from adobe.

The only problem that I am having, is being able to access/view/edit/modify the source material on the network shared drive.
is there a way to do this?

Please add the ability to access/view/edit/modify network resources.

Thank you.

I know you're in good hands with @Kevin-Monahan, but this feels vaguely similar to my work situation: in one of our offices we have one workstation with the Adobe software and a different (internet-connected but not locally networked) computer that houses the media assets. We set both up to use cloud storage and point to the files through the cloud-connected local drives (i.e. G:/ is a Google Drive, M:/ is a OneDrive, etc.).

Hope this helps! Make sure to press "✔ Correct Answer" on this post if this answers your question. Happy Creating!Anissa • @anissat

I got your note. Thanks for marking it as a feature request. I hope the product team can grant this request ASAP. Sorry for the frustration.

Thanks,
