Question

Nikon Z8 videos don't load in Rush

I have a paid monthly subscription, including Premier Rush, which I have used successfully when impoting videos recorded by Nikon D850. I now use a Nikon Z8, and when I try to open videos I get a message "This file requires the HEVC codec which is included with a Creaive Cloud membership. To upgrade to a paid plan go to: www.adobe/go/video".  I am logged into my paid plan, and all apps are up-to-date (Rush version 2.10) when I receive this message.

Hello, @BruceK360,

I read about your problem. Sounds frustrating. Which subscription plan are you using? That would help in solving your problem. I hope we can help.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi @BruceK360,

Thanks for your answer. I am speaking with the product team about this now. Rush does not support HEVC 4:2:2 10-bit footage. The advice is to transcode the footage to an editing codec or H.264 using Media Encoder, or if you don't have that, Shutter Encoder will work, too. In the past, I believed this was related to the subscription type, but I discovered that certain kinds of footage simply aren't supported. You might try shooting H.264 or another HEVC variant to see if that might work for you.

I hope the advice helps.

Thanks,

Kevin
