Rush won't recognize my external drive

Hi,

I want to start a new project in Premiere Rush but it won't recognize my external drive where my .mov files are located. I tried System Preference > Security & Privacy > Files and Folders > and clicked on Downloads, Documents and Desktop. It doesn't work. Sharing & Permissions on the external drive is Read & Write. 

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

I have the same problem, but cannot find an answer in this support community. I currently have two external drives in use, a WD Elements drive and a ScanDisk drive. While Rush shows all files on the first one, for the latter is says: No files to show. Any help would be appreciated.

In both cases, it may have to do with how the external drive was formatted; a drive formatted for a Mac may not be recognizable when connected to a PC, and vice versa. Is it possible to test this theory on another computer?
