Question

The Speed and Volume Are All Messed Up

The program used to work great but over the last 3-4 months (maybe longer), I've been having significant issues with it.

 

When I open files in the program, frequently, I'm not able to play back the video before editing - it just doesn't play.  If it does play, the playback speed is very slow and there's no audio.  Assuming I am able to play the file, the program will just randomly freeze.  And, I'm not even talking about large files...maybe 2-3 minutes of video.

 

I thought maybe I just had too much saved so I've been deleting older projects (I've deleted quite a bit) but it doesn't seem to have helped any.

 

The program is almost unuseable for me now.  I'm actually looking into other options for video editing.

    Hi @Mike34861736xlpb,

    Sorry about that. Try deleting cache files from Prefernces/Settings and click the manage cache button. Choose to delete all the files. Restart the app and press Alt/Option to bring up the reset preferences dialog box. Choose to reset preferences. See if these steps help you with your issue. Please return with any questions.

    I couldn't find any "reset preferences dialog box" so I couldn't do that part of your suggestion.  I did delete the cashe which seems to have helped - at least, for now!

    Hi @Mike34861736xlpb,

    Glad deleting media cache helped. If you didn't get the Reset Options dialog box with Shift at launch, perhaps you are not using a current version. Is that so? Anyway, let us know if we can further help here on the community forums.
