We converted from RH2015 to RH2022. When a converted link opens, it is opening in a new window instead of the same frame, effectively cutting off the user from the rest of the help. Is there any way to have links open in the same frame?

Double click the link and change the setting shown. Page Default will work in the way you want.

We have hundreds of these links scattered over thousands of topics. Is there any way to change this without going link-by-link? Thanks.

Note one in source view before and after to see the difference. Then use the Find & Replace bottom left of the screen.
Create a backup first.

How were the links configured in the Classic project? What point version of RH2022 did you use to do the upgrade of the Classic project?

@Jeff_Coatsworth That's what I'm not getting. Nothing changed in this respect between Classic and the New UI.

Yeah - I'm curious to see what they looked like in the Classic project and if ok there, how did they get messed up in the upgrade.

It's easier if you insert images using the Photo icon. Seeing an image inline with the text makes it easier for anyone answering or viewing the post.
That's the equivalent screen of the one I showed earlier. If you double click a link that is now opening in a new tab, what setting is applied?

The project that I have converted (from 2017) works the same way. If Page Default is selected in Classic, the link appears in the same frame. But in the same topic in 2022, it opens in a new window/new tab. I had to change the setting for links that I wanted to appear in the same frame to Same Frame instead of Page Default.
I'm not sure of an easy way to fix this. You could do a search for:
htm">
And replace that with:
htm" target="_self">
But I would hesitate to just find and replace all - if you have auto sizing popups, I don't think you'd want to add the target code because those aren't supposed to appear in the same frame, so I would use the search to find them but review each before replacing.

Thank you. This is very helpful. Like you, we had Page Default selected in Classic and it appeared in the same frame. Because it's not feasible for us to change the links one at a time, I would like to try your solution. (I definitely won't do a find and replace all.) I know how to view the html code for a single topic in RoboHelp, but is there a way to view the html code for the entire child project in RoboHelp?

No. However, you can find all and then replace one at a time. Backup first.

Just to be sure I understand what you are saying, when you say "you can find all...," are you referring to doing a find all on a topic-by-topic basis?

That depends on which setting you apply in the F&R dialog.
Beware of Backup Modified Files. You get a duplicate of everything.

I will give this a try and let you know the results. Thanks.
