Account suspended - waiting times?

Explorer ,
Oct 04, 2023 Oct 04, 2023

Hi everyone, as is happening to many, they suspended my account, after about 2 weeks they replied:

Your account was blocked after we noticed that you have submitted Generative Ai content that is not within our guidelines.

You have submitted files that refer to famous artists, people, characters from popular culture, and/or other existing subjects such as video games in the image, title or keywords. We take intellectual property rights very seriously and your uploads are a violation of these rights and thus violate the upload guidelines.

Your account will remain blocked until further notice
----------
from the answer it's only temporary, but they didn't give me a time frame, does anyone have experience with this? How long after did they reactivate the account?

however this wild blocking policy is not nice at all, why don't you get notified about what you did wrong and even now I don't know what I sent to be blocked, isn't their job precisely to filter the images that are not good? one cannot know everything that is protected by rights etc. it is impossible to never make a mistake.

adobe earns on our work, plus firely is trained on our images "I just got the bonus for that too", and my approval rate is also high.

without our photos adobe stock would not exist, treating collaborators like this is not nice.-

zero assistance, if you write they don't respond, there is a really big problem that they don't want to solve.

it almost seems like they don't want to work and instead of rejecting the wrong images "by mistake" they just block you so they have less work to do

but is it possible that no one does anything?

It is not Adobes responsibilty to filter out images that go against the guidelines. It is your responsibility to follow the guidelines that you agreed to. Sure, I also wish that Adobe would respond sooner and give better answers but, they are not required to and they dont. You also agreed to that. Read the terms that you agreed to. I hope your account is unblocked soon and that you can contribute further.

However, the message you received specifically states that you violated the IP rights of others in your submissions. It is YOUR responsibility to fully comply with the Contributor Agreement which requires you to have full IP ownership rights to any works you upload. Adobe takes IP protection very seriously, and such a violation can be grounds for permanent suspension of your account.

It seems that Adobe's systems do not have the capability to selectively review accounts without taking the entire account offline while doing so. They may be still reviewing your assets, and it's possible that your account will be restored after they've deleted the offending assets.

If you have a doubt if something is considered protected, you should not upload. It's not abut never making a mistake, but it's more about making many mistakes.

Hi @c15C3

I am not sure why the moderators choose this level of zero tolerances when it comes to AI submission. In light of my understanding that they usually issue warning with refusals before deciding to suspend an account, I believe they do have a good reason for abruptly suspending an account at first offence. I don't believe they would have a problem highlighting the offending file(s) and what the exact offence is if you ask. If it is an error, I believe they will be happy to restore your account as soon as possible.

Regards

Jacquelin

As a matter of a fact, we are here doing some intelligent guesswork. My best guess is that Adobe was overwhelmed by subpar content that moderation allowed to pass.

If you have used the "contact us" link to reach out to Adobe you must await their response. It could take days or it could take weeks to receive a reply, since they are quite busy investigating many other account suspensions. Do not spam them with multiple requests for info, as that just further clogs the Contributor Support system.

If your account has been suspended, there is nothing that this community of peers can do for you. You will need to contact Adobe contributor support via the link at “Contact us”. Adobe will answer via e-mail, so watch your spam folder. The answer may take some time, depending on the workload of contributor support and the complexity of the investigation. So be patient and do not spam the contributor support.

60,000 images for me in my portfolio (I was in the top 300 for weeks before the block) and I've been waiting over a month now since that one email they gave at first. Sucks that I went from getting $90-100 per day to 0 from this with essentially no communication or updates from them, just fingers crossed. People have been slowly getting unblocked though so that's a little reassuring even if it's taking months and more blocks are happening every day which clogs it more.

With 4000 AI files, I was in the block for 3 weeks. I think Adobe is making a mistake by blocking us retroactively after accepting the file. This is not logical. If the file is problematic, it should not be accepted immediately. This is just some kind of totalitarianism in which people have no rights. We need to fight this!

Finally a sensible comment, I agree with you, this retroactive block for incorrect images, which maybe is because every week the rules change, and put the text, and remove the text, and put the check, they don't even know what do and now they block all accounts

They did change the submission rules for generative AI but those changes have no impact on the quality and IP requirements. Introducing the checkmark for generative Art and for fictional persons and properties does nothing more than simplifying the rules that were in place before. And they specifically called out to you certain rules that were in place before, but that got violated a lot. And moderators got probably training to detect these issues more easily.

BTW: many contributors for generative AI were trying to circumvent the rules imposed to get there assets accepted faster. And many moderators were not prepared for the specific issues that generative art did introduce.

Accepting Generative AI has been an ever evolving challenge for Adobe. There was a learning curve with Moderators, and they accepted many subpar images which Adobe is now having to clear out of the database, often as the result of a Buyer complaint. There were also many, many AI contributors spamming and scamming the system with poor quality images, similars, and IP violations. The fact that mistakes were made in initial acceptance of poor quality, noncompliant images does not mean that they should remain in the database forever. How do you propose to "fight this"? Reread your contributor agreement to know your rights, which are actually quite limited if you have uploaded inferior assets or violated any of the T&C's.

just delete it or tell the authors to do it themselves, but blocking an account is already the third step, the first two are a warning.

I think that a lot of the pictures should not have been submitted at all. You were all happy to submit bad assets and getting them accepted. You are now unhappy getting blocked for that. I understand that, but it is only a reaction to your submission mistakes. You can fight this by leaving the platform. That's all you can do.
