Anyone else seeing 8-week moderation delays?

New Here ,
Sep 16, 2025 Sep 16, 2025

I’ve recently started contributing again after a couple of years off.

I’ve uploaded a number of assets and in the In Review tab I’m seeing the message:

"Thank you for your submission, your files will be reviewed as soon as possible. Moderation may take up to eight weeks." (screenshot attached).

Is this the new normal now? In the past my files were usually reviewed within a week.

Could the longer review time be because I’ve been inactive for a couple of years, or is this happening for everyone?

It can vary. If something hasn't been reviewed for 3 months or more, it's probably stuck in the queue and needs to be re-submitted.

Thanks for sharing that. Three months does seem like a very long time. In the past when I was actively contributing, reviews rarely took more than a week for me. I’m just trying to understand if turnaround times have materially changed since then, or if this is more of a temporary backlog situation. Does anyone know what the current average review time is supposed to be?

Again, it can vary. I have 1 or 2 assets reviewed per day. Although none today. There is also no longer a first in-first reviewed scenario. They often tend to jump around, seemingly ignoring some assets and reviewing new submissions immediately. I've had some reviewed within a few minutes of submission.

Thanks, really interesting. It does feel a bit unpredictable. Mine have only been in for a few days, so I’ll see if there’s movement by the end of the week. Maybe the AI flood is jamming up the queues.

Steps were put into place a few months ago to alleviate the mass submission of AI assets. Three years ago, it wasn't unusual to for contributors (programmers in particular) to submit thousands of images at a time. I know when I first began submitting, it did take a while before my first assets began being reviewed, so your two-year absence may indeed have something to do with the delay.

I second this. Quite often, around 50% of my assets get approved within an hour of submission, while the other half seems to sit untouched for months. I’ve never fully understood why, but I’m not complaining. Every time I submit files, some are accepted within one to three days, and I’ve also noticed a decrease in my rejection rate—which I’m really excited about.

There is no "normal" when it comes to review times. It can vary from just a few hours to overnight to many months.

The wait queue can be anywhere from 1 to 3 months, depending on how many assets are ahead of yours and the availability of Reviewers to examine them.

2 years is a long time. You have some catching up to do. Lots of things have changed.  Re-read your Stock Contributor User Guide. We don't want you to accidentally get blocked for rules violations.

Good luck.
