New Here ,

Today, I "created" my first Adobe Firefly image, it turned out beautifully. I would like to know, can I publish it in my book with correct Attribution to Adobe? I saw this article.

If you created the AI image yourself using Adobe tools, you do not need to provide attribution in your book.

No one can rule out copyright lawsuits. Not even Adobe. But in reality it is probably quite unlikely. AI is the new western frontier. Have fun and good luck with the book..!

Adobe has sourced the AI training from its immense stock of images and from public domain assets. Contributors got indemnified for the use. There won't be successful copyright claims. If there are, they won't choose the poorest link in the chain, but the richest: Adobe.

This is, to be clear, my personal unqualified opinion. Like every participant here, I'm not a lawyer and I do not have formal legal training.

If you have any legal concerns, consult a regional attorney who is experienced in digital copyright law.

See this recent article from August, 2023.
https://www.reuters.com/legal/ai-generated-art-cannot-receive-copyrights-us-court-says-2023-08-21/

In some parts of the world, AI can be copyright protected if it meets certain criteria.  In other regions it can't.

This further complicates an already murky subject about who owns content that's all or partially generated by AI.

Good luck with your project.

Interesting article. All legal verdicts until now say that AI-generated images cannot be copyrighted.

There is the USA and there is the rest of the world. The rest of the world may have different views.

That's what I'm saying. One error Americans do, from time to time, is to forget that the rest of the world exists! 🤫

Yes, if they are not a product of the Firefly beta program.
