Getting NO activity on my Vector Stock Contributions

Community Beginner ,
Jul 04, 2022 Jul 04, 2022

About six weeks ago I decided to start uploading my illustrations onto Adobe Stock.

I've had them on an istock/getty folio as an exclusive for over ten years and generally get a sale every few days, and have decided to branch out to a few more sites (Had enough of istock exclusive), but get ZERO views, never mind sales.

Is there something I'm missing here? Or is my folio even more uncommercial than I thought?

All feedback gratefully received, here's a link my folio:

Thanks!

Hello,

Adobe Stock did have a views count a while back, but was no longer included due to the fact it was very unreliable!

See this link about views:

Solved: "Views" count has vanished - Adobe Support Community - 9031077

AFAIK, it won't be included and the answer provided is still the same.

I'm not quite sure what counts as a "view". I just clicked on one of your images and saw it larger. Maybe that's a view. To me it suggests your images are not appearing in the search for anyone - so whatever your keywords, one of these applies

(a) people are not searching for them or

(b) other files have the same keywords, and are seen first. Yours are never seen. A search is limited to 100 pages of 100 entries, so if more than 10,000 files are available, many will never be seen. (A big problem for popular subjects, with 23 million candidates for "flower" for example).

(c) your work is seen but not clicked on.

So, did you spend any time searching for your work by keywords? Are you sure the keywords are those which will be used by people looking for work like yours?  In fact I searched for "cartoon jump through hoops" and you were 3 of 129.

Hi thanks, for the reply.

Mostly, the fact that you found one of mine on a search was enough, I just wasn;t sure if there was something I was missing,

How do you know that you're getting zero views? I am not aware of such a statistic that is available to the user.

You know what, I had a slightly senile moment and was looking on another site where I have had zero views nad some how thought it was the adobe site. I imagine it would be a good feature if we could get an idea of any interest in our work and not just sales?

I'm not sure it would be a useful statistic, and would certainly be difficult for Adobe to collect. When a Buyer searches for an image, thousands of results might be displayed, 100 per page. If they happened to look at a page on which one of your images was 1 out of those 100, would that be considered a view? Views don't pay, only purchases pay!

It's hard to discern robot views from human views with any degree of certainty.  So statistically "Views" are useless data.

Your doodles/drawings are nice but I'm not sure how well the keywords mesh with what most commercial content creators are searching for.

See Keywording Cheat Sheet.

All stock providers have different types of customers, my best selling pictures here are not best selling elsewhere.

Hi @jamesw26988118 ,

While I cannot say about your experience on other platforms, it is extremely unlikely you'll start getting sales within 6 weeks of uploading to a platform. You need to be consistent with your uploads to create volume. Overtime people will start seeing your files, or seeing the need to purchase them. As you've seen already, Adobe abandoned the view count several years ago.

Best wishes

Jacquelin
