Similar images already submitted!!!

Participant ,
Mar 31, 2025 Mar 31, 2025

Hello there,

I went from a 95% acceptance rate to 20% or less. Almost all of my submissions are being rejected for the "similar image" reason.

The quality of the images is really good and doesn’t have any issues.

I am uploading at most 2 or 3 variations of each object ,PNGs only and a variety of different items across many categories. I also make sure not to upload similar content that I’ve previously submitted. I am 100% certain that my entire account doesn’t have more than three variations of any given item.

Sometimes, I upload the same object in different styles.

for example, a car in a 3D style and another version in watercolor or clay, so they are still distinct. (2 to 3 variations for each style)

Is this a general issue that will be resolved soon, or is it only affecting me?

Yes, it affects your contributions in that they aren't made available for sale.

It is believed that "similar images" also refers to other similar images throughout the database from other Contributors.

It's not just you.

Others are seeing "similar" rejections, too.

I received a response in a day. But again, it was copperplate standard text. Point is to just let them know what's going on, since Adobe doesn't always check out some of the forums.

A number of contributors are having assets rejected for being too similar when in fact they are not. We don't know why. Our only option is to wait things out until the situatioin is explained or fixed. Some have ceased to submit new assets in the meantime.

I was mistaken about it being a lawsuit, but a "rebuke" is probably just one step short of a lawsuit!

Since Adobe is tightening the image submission rules, seems most of contributors will have higher rejection rate than before. Does anyone know if account will be suspended due to there are too many rejected image?

I am concerning if rejection rate keep high, than will lead to account ban.

The common understanding is that maintaining an acceptance rate above 50% is best. Anything less than that and you're wasting your time and Adobe's. However, I know of no specific guideline / rule in this regard.

According to Adobe, a high rejection rate has no influence on account banning, but those rules may change in the future. However, it was said in the past that having a high rate of refusals for similar assets could lead to account banning for spamming. I do not think that this will apply to the current refusals, which may be caused by some badly parametered program.

It is probably good practice to keep the rejection rate below 50%, as that was once a parameter, Adobe used for the bonus program.

Maybe Adobe Stock has gone crazy. I uploaded 33 images to Adobe Stock 2 days ago, and out of those, 4 images were not approved. They stated the reason as 'Similar Image,' claiming that I had already uploaded them before. I was surprised because I’ve never uploaded this type of image before. Even 10 days ago, I uploaded several images and they didn’t approve them either. I’m wondering if anyone else has faced the same issue or if it’s just happening to me. If anyone knows a solution, please let me know.

BTW: You should say that yor assets have been refused. Having images not approved could simply mean that they are still waiting for aproval.

Hi, I am facing a big problem. I uploaded some images to my Adobe Stock contributor account 10 days ago, but today they haven't been approved. They are saying that I have uploaded similar images before, which surprises me because I have never uploaded such images before.

This is a problem that has been reported several times here in this forum. Several contributors are expierincing the same problem. We have no answer.

This is a common and confusing issue at the present time. For the first time in over a week, I finally had 6 assets accepted, and only one rejected as being too similar. Surprisingly, three of the images accepted were of backgrounds/wallpapers, which we normally recommend not to submit, since there are millions of them already available. Another was of a loose meat sandwich, versions of which I have previously submitted (although loose meat sandwiches are under-represented in the database at the moment compared to other types of sandwiches). The remaining two were OK, but not personal favorites (a head of lettuce and empty water bottles). Clearly, one needs the mind of the Great Kreskin to know in advance what will and won't be accepted under the present circumstances. (Sorry for the obscure reference. Most people over 60 will probably get it).

Read some of the other recent posts here in the forum. Many Contributors are reporting an unusual level of "similars" rejections. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do to dispute the findings of the Moderators.

I have gone from 90-95% acceptance rate to about 5%. I am sure these rejections are all AI generated (Similar Image Already Submitted). I am no longer submitting to Adobe until I hear that this issue has been resolved.

AI would probably do a better job. I suspect an algorithm that is looking at titles and keywords. The too similar rejection is not new. We've seen it before, but it was extremely rare. I think the algorithm has been poorly tweaked and is overly sensitive.  Just guessing.

I am very careful to have different titles and keywords, and in fact use an AI program so that these both vary a lot. After titles and keywords are applied by my AI program, I go back and tweak to make sure they are ok. So I know my images are not being rejected for that reason. I have a portfolio of close to 7,000 images and have been submitting to Adobe for a number of years. I have never had images rejected for being "similar" until these last 2 batches.

Hard to say. Whatever it is, it needs fixing. In my case, I submit a lot of people pics. They are being summarily rejected. Wallpapers and backgrounds are (usually) being accepted.

Hello, 8 photos were rejected as similar images. Every travel photo is unique with different descriptions from different places. The problem is that I have never uploaded such photos before. It's a mistake. What should I do?

Unfortunately, there is no recourse to dispute the findings of the Moderators. Many other Contributors are reporting unjustified rejections based on "similars". I have the same problem with my travel images. They are most definitely not similars. I have decided to stop submitting new assets for now until Adobe provides some clarity on this situation.

Maybe you haven't, but other Contributors may have.

Did you check yours against current Stock inventory?

Why should I check other contributors? The reason of rejection is "it's similar to another image(s) you've already uploaded, so we can't accept it into our collection".  But I've not uploaded such a similar image. Never. Nobody can make absolutely the same travel image. We have different angles and post-production.

It supposedly applies to other assets available in the database as well (though not necessarily). This is happening to a number of contributors. Email contributor support and express your concerns.

This is a standard response, differing only by the name at the beginning.  If enough complaints like this are generated, maybe someone from the marketing or accounting department will pay attention.
Definitely not the programmers.

I also have the same problem - "a similar image has already been sent by YOU"! And it clearly says that "YOU" - and not in the entire database from other participants. But this is just a template answer! Since similar in topic, they can be completely different and unique in their own way. There is no understanding here. For example, for five days in a row, they deleted ONE work at a time, until there was nothing left under consideration. It was even kind of funny, because it could be done in one go... But still, I think that after changing some rules of Adobe itself, some kind of glitch appeared and until it is fixed, it is not worth sending the image!

Sure, but an Adobe employee once confirmed that it could also be checked against the whole database. But at that time, that was for assets that were submitted abundantly: flowers, sunsets, sunrises, dogs and cats.
