Similar images already submitted!!!

Participant ,
Mar 31, 2025 Mar 31, 2025

Hello there,

I went from a 95% acceptance rate to 20% or less. Almost all of my submissions are being rejected for the "similar image" reason.

The quality of the images is really good and doesn’t have any issues.

I am uploading at most 2 or 3 variations of each object ,PNGs only and a variety of different items across many categories. I also make sure not to upload similar content that I’ve previously submitted. I am 100% certain that my entire account doesn’t have more than three variations of any given item.

Sometimes, I upload the same object in different styles.

for example, a car in a 3D style and another version in watercolor or clay, so they are still distinct. (2 to 3 variations for each style)

Is this a general issue that will be resolved soon, or is it only affecting me?

Yes, it affects your contributions in that they aren't made available for sale.

It is believed that "similar images" also refers to other similar images throughout the database from other Contributors.

It's not just you.

Others are seeing "similar" rejections, too.

I received a response in a day. But again, it was copperplate standard text. Point is to just let them know what's going on, since Adobe doesn't always check out some of the forums.

A number of contributors are having assets rejected for being too similar when in fact they are not. We don't know why. Our only option is to wait things out until the situatioin is explained or fixed. Some have ceased to submit new assets in the meantime.

Hi @ArunimaSri,

To better assist you with the similar refusal, I sugest you submit about three of the refused files and a link to your public profile for comparison.

Best wishes

"I am uploading at most 2 or 3 variations of each object"

Based on my own "similar" rejections, I'm starting to get the feeling that any more than 1 is too many.

I don't think this is right.

By the way, a lot of images are still being accepted into the database. I just checked it now, and it has grown by 5 million in the last three days (4.5 million of those are AI-generated). If you look at the most recent uploads, you’ll see tons of similar images, especially flowers and abstract backgrounds. So it’s clearly happening to some contributors, but not to everyone. Why? I have no idea.

I've only had 1 AI asset accepted per day (with 1 to 4 rejections for similar each day) since this issue started. So it isn't me. 😉

I usually submit around 50 images. At first, about 10 get accepted, but then the remaining ones get stuck in review and end up being rejected one by one for being "too similar."

Try submitting more than four at once and see what happens

"Try submitting more than four at once and see what happens"

I only edit 2 to 4 per day. Personally, I don't care how many submissions AI contributors make, but no more than 10 per contributor should be reviewed at one time per day.

What I mean is, don’t just submit 2–4 images daily and make it 20 a week. Try uploading a larger batch at once to see if it makes any difference.
Just a suggestion, you can ignore it if you want!

Same thing is happening to me as to everyone else over 90% acceptance rate dropped to maybe 10-20%. The worst thing is that Support is non-existent for this kind of issue - and I'm getting images flagged that I've added for the first time ever. Them expecting that I will do a research of their database and search many pages if something similar was already posted is wild. Editing, keywording etc is already a bunch of time put into this and I'm not a computer I can't do such research for every single image -and no human can. Besides - finding a search term that doesn't have at least 5 digit XX.XXX results is near to impossible, would have to be very, very niche like some kind of rare fish species or smth.

I also saw this happening live, as I've added about 80 images from my batch from last few months, half were approved, 2nd half (all of it 100%) rejected for the same exact reason. I thought I'll tackle this issue by just simply not adding more than 1 image that looks same so basically exactly what they’ve asked me to do, but it didn't work at all, even if I add an image for the first time ever meaning I’ve never added anything remotely similar by both tags, title and the image itself – still rejected, amazing.

Some people say the similar image issue is also determined by the fact of whether Adobe has similar images in the database - but it doesn't say that anywhere, it just says that I personally have posted similar image on my account. I've already seen some patterns, that often it doesn't even reject due to image being similar, but if few of your tags are similar to any other images on your account. It’s madness, our work is done by hand, we’re not F computers to be able to analyze whatever they’re demanding from people now.

Anyone who has a similar issue - please upvote the post, they won't act if the number of people complaining for this issue is small, I saw comments that Support says "that's how it supposed to be", so I guess there's nothing else besides getting the numbers of complaints up we can do about this.

I've upvoted, but it won't make a difference.

EVERYONE who has this issue should email support and complain, requesting they have someone look into it properly, and if they send an email with a rote reply email again, give them a low rating if you have that opportunity.

It's the only way someone will eventually look into it.

I've been there. I wont take that route another time. This is the possibility that can happen. One person keeps getting your e-mails. You're being taken for a ride and your account gets flagged. Adobe is not the only platform. Otherwise, we can try something else.

Best wishes

Bonjour,

Esta

Ashampoo_Snap_2025.04.18_00h05m11s_001_.png

Interestingly, my liquid soap image above was approved 2-3 days ago.

When I search for "Liquid Soap" on Adobe Stock (via Canada), exactly 672,553 results appear. If I search for "Blue liquid soap", the results drop to 218,105. It is also interesting that a topic with 672,000 equivalents is approved these days without being bothered by the concept of "similarity".

In the e-mail sent to me, it was recommended that I search Adobe's archive - in order to avoid similarity - before uploading.

What I can't understand is how I can check all 627,553 items, or 218,105 items one by one; before uploading this piece? I guess 100 results are shown on each page, and the results are limited to the first 100 pages. So even if I wanted to, I couldn't compare more than 10,000.

When this is the case, I have stopped uploading, and I am waiting for developments regarding the situation (if any).

Your search terms aren't yielding the results you think they are. If you want to search for all images that have both "liquid" and "soap" in the keywords, you must put them in quotes like this: "liquid soap". That yields 51K results. If you want to further expand that to images with blue soap: "blue liquid soap". That yields 15 results. This assume that the Contributor puts the color in their keywords. Just entering blue liquid soap (without quotes) is going to give you results that have blue or liquid or soap in the keywords or some combination of those. It could be a blue sea. It could be a bar of soap. It could be a glass of liquid.

I am also getting the same issue "Similar image" rejection. The reason mentioned as "similar to another image(s) you've already uploaded". Here the point is very important. Is Adobestock matching the rejected image with my own already upload images or is it matching the whole database of images on Adobestock uploaded by other contributors.

Because, although it is mentioned in the message that Adobestock is matching with my own collection, but for my understanding, Adobestock is mathcing with other creators assets as well. Because, many of my images are rejected and there is not even single image which is same or similar in my own collection.

They are referring to the entire database. But many are still finding that the similar assets being rejected are actually quite unique.

No one is going to come here and state that they have NOT had any similar refusals; however, based on the number of Contributors reporting such refusals here and in the Discord channel, I would conclude that it is nearly universal.

This really needs to get fixed soon!!! Losing over half the submitted images is becoming a pain. The worste part is we still have no information on the situation and if this becomes the norm there will be a lot of accounts starting to get flagged and possible removed because of it.

There is information on this. Adobe thinks that the tool they are using works as intended. For the last three years, they added an insane number of assets to the database, and they probably determined that they can slow this down to a normal flux. And as they have difficulties to keep up with moderation, just refusing 20-80% of the submissions for similarity will enhance the moderation waiting time enormously.

I still think that the tool is ill configured, but Adobe does not seam to share my opinion, which lets me think that the current situation is there to stay, at least for a while.

Adobe WHAT !!!!!!

Thanks for giving us the chance to consider your image. Unfortunately, during our review we found that it's similar to another image(s) you've already uploaded, so we can't accept it into our collection.

                                                     ????????????????????????????????????????

This is not true , I havent posted anything like it or the other ones they rejected with the same  thing  on them , its getting to the point where I dont feel like posting anything all the hrs of work for NOTHING !!!

As for  what they accept , well I am not sure they are doing it correctly , there are images I have spent alot of time on and there is nothing wrong with them  REJECTED !!! I uploaded one by mistake the wrong image was bad not finished had flaws they where very noticable BUT guess what they accepted that one !!! WHY do they even really look at what they are doing ?? I deleted it myself after they accepted into my portolio WHAT A SHAME I DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON WITH ADOBE ????

Lots of people have the same issue.

The only way it will get looked at is if people contact [Moderator deleted private information. Please do not post private information like e-mails and phone numbers]

Focus on it being an issue for lots of contributors, and don't accept a general answer.
