Excuse me for my ignorance and the difficulty of understanding the English language because it is not my mother tongue, but I am from Egypt and the day before I filled out the W-8BEN tax form and I want to make a payout request and while I am doing that, Adobe asks me the following question:

Are you a US tax resident?

What should I choose?

Yes I am a US tax resident.

Or

No I am not a US tax resident.

Correct answer RALPH_L

If you live in the USA, or if you are a US citizen or if you are a Green Card holder then you are considered to be a US tax resident.

You are a Non-US Citizen.

If you don't submit a completed tax withholding form, you will be taxed at the full amount of 30%. See Tax FAQs below for more details.

The good news is the U.S. and Egypt have a tax treaty agreement.  See chart below for your Withholding rate by country and the Treaty Article on which your rate is based.

The answer is quite clear - "No, I am not a US tax resident".

Hi @36510890 ,

Normally where you live is where you are expected to pay tax, thus the term "tax resident".

If you live (reside)  in Egypt you should answer "No I am not a US tax resident." to the question "Are you a US tax resident?".

If you live (reside) in US you should answer "Yes I am a US tax resident".

Best wishes

Jacquelin

Hi Mostafa, if you don't live in the USA, you should not be a US tax resident.
