These are nearly impossible shots unless you do multiple exposures and layer them.

Look at what your competition is doing in the same keyword category.  Then ask yourself which is better?

When looking at this photo at 100%, the technical flaws were a bit easier to notice.  The hand is poorly lit and not in focus, and the object has some contrast and lighting issues in the areas outside of the flame.

 

Like @Nancy OShea said, this is a tough shot to nail.

To add to @Nancy OShea 's advice: Postprocessing is here the keyword. Some of her examples are simply computer generated images, others are heavily postprocessed. Any such picture, directly out of the camera does not look great. Multiple causes apply, but I would guess the two most obvious are the high light emission, just like a flash and the light colour temperature. The camera will try to "correct" both issues, but can't, because this is not a standard situation. You need to process manually for this. And you need to process in a way that it looks naturally for stock use.
