Why was this rejected?

New Here ,
Jan 13, 2023 Jan 13, 2023

Hi

I'm new to Adobe stock and hoped someone more experienced could give me feedback on why yhis image may have been rejected on "Quality Issues"

I have completed a series of surreal images but now think I may have wasted my time.

No! Even as a surreal image, you should follow the guidelines. But there are not only blurry edges, but also compression artefacts. Why that is, is not understandable as your image is a png 😉 :

I'm wondering if this is an AI generated illustration

By @George_F

I did not wonder, it is, at 99% sure!

Hi,

it seems that the lines and edges are very blurry.

Before you submit, please review the submission guidelines carefully and compare your work with other Stock inventory.

Hi Henrik

Thanks for the response and I would agree 100% if this was a photograph of something that actually existed, but this is intended to be a representation of a surreal painting where blurry edges would be sort of expected?

Thanks

Glenn

Also this is a PNG file. PNG files are to have a transparent background.

I'm wondering if this is an AI generated illustration, and if you submitted it as such?

Along with the technical flaws the others have pointed out, there is what appears to be a signature in the lower right portion of image.

If it is AI, did you follow all the specific rules for AI (special tags, not described as photo, check rights contract from AI company etc. etc.)?

Thanks to everybody for the answers, I am always grateful for people who take the time to help us sad newbies. It is an AI-generated image and I believe that I did follow the guide to the letter - I guess I will have to regenerate it and look at a better method for upscaling it.  My guess as to the artifacts is that I generated a jpg file and upscaled it t a png file will jpg to jpg next time.

Again - Thanks all

"I will have to regenerate it and look at a better method for upscaling it."

Adobe's rules are absolutely clear on this point. You MUST NOT upscale it. If generating an AI, it has to be generated at the final size - and the AI must not be upscaling either.

You're welcome.

Please see this from the user's manual:

Do: Zoom in 100% and check your file before submitting.

Don’t: Compress files too much — this creates irreparable pixelation.

Don’t: Enlarge files.

Don’t: Add text or watermarks.

That's an operation, the user can do by himself when needed. You won't add quality to your asset by upsizing the image. You should absolutely read all the Contributor User Guide, especially the content requirement for photos and illustrations.
