  • October 1, 2025

After installing the latest version of Designer on my Laptop, it opens the splash screen and terminates after two or three seconds.

  • I deinstalled it and did a new installation
  • I also updated GPU drivers
  • I disabled Antivirus Software

Hey Cyril, Hey Luca,

I resolved the problem by cleaning up all the NVIDIA Drivers, starting Designer with the internal GPU and reinstalling the NVIDIA Drivers from scratch. Then again staring it with the internal GPU worked but not with the NVIDIA GPU.

After deactivating the NVIDIA GPU in the Device Manager it worked fine.

I also activated the NVIDIA GPU again, now it also works with the RTX GPU, so I actually have no idea what solved the issue, but it's solved.

All the best Marco

Hey Cyril, Hey Luca,

I tackled the problem once again and I think it is a GPU issue, since I get the error that vulkan can't be started in the latest blender version as well, the GPU is a RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, but there is also an integrated AMD GPU on board, I think it maybe, that the Software doesn't choose the RTX GPU and tries to use the integrated one.

I try resolving the issue, cleaning all the GPU Driver files and also the Vulkan SDK which I used to learn vulkan.

What did the Crash Dumps say?

All the best Marco

Hello Marco,

In addition to @Cyril Dellenbach's suggestions, can you please share the crash dump file for the Designer process?

On Windows, you can find crash dumps at:  %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps

Best regards.

Hello Marco,

If you rollback to the previous update, does it work? I'm not saying you should keep an outdated version, but it would help understanding the issue.

Alternatively, have you already tried to launch the app as admin?

Let me know.
